Curious about the people behind the buildings downtown? We got you covered with our all-new tour series, “Curiosity on Commerce Street,” running until July 2024. Discover Commerce Street's legendary past with our curated collection of stories that begin in the 18th century and end with a deeper connection to the history that surrounds us today. Tours are open to the public, all you need is a ticket! During this tour series, we'll answer these questions: - What’s that big high heel all about? - How did the Monacan people influence Lynchburg? - What industries did Lynchburg dominate locally and internationally? - Who are some national and international celebrities that frequented Commerce Street and Lynchburg? - What are some curious facts about Lynchburg that most Lynchburgers don’t even know? and much, much more! Timing Tours are 1 hour long (give or take) Tours begin at 2pm Meet in front of the red high heel in front of the Craddock Terry Distance .5 miles total Is the street safe for all tour-goers? The streets downtown may not be safe for all walkers. Some sidewalks are old and are uneven at times. Please use caution before purchasing your ticket. We have had several teens on the tour with their parents reporting they felt it was appropriate for ages ten and up. Children younger than ten may have a harder time staying focused, so please make the best decision for your child and fellow tour-goers.

Cancellation Policy

Tours are rain or shine events. An email will be sent out within two hours of the tour if tour is canceled. If the tour is canceled due to hazardous weather, you will receive an email from Curious History letting you know how to re-schedule your ticket for another date at no additional cost. No refunds will be issued. Sidewalks are old and may not be suitable for all walking levels. Ticket purchase to serve as confirmation that purchaser has read the above information and agrees to our company policies.
